Origins
Incorporated in 1917, Toto's early years mirrored Japan's economic growth. In the beginning of its existence, the company made goods to meet demand for modern and contemporary urban housing. To accomplish this, it used the country's first tunnel kiln to produce ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered automation to allow production control, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company created the Cera Trading Company to import and market other manufacturers' products in order to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and expanded the firm's market share in the world.
By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis to research and development of water-related household appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of its customers and to increase profits. The company also employed the approach of just-in-time in its supply chain management and sales program. This resulted in a greater level of satisfaction with the customer.
Toto continued to develop toilet technology. Its latest toilet has a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. Toto uses recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green buying policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than conventional models.
The first museum of the company was opened in the year 2015 It has exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their evolution and its group companies (all having to do with ceramics), historical background of plumbing and products like bath units, and in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. 토토 꽁머니 has the bathroom equipped with a WASHLET as well as other toilet innovations.

They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia one would expect the group to be prog kings and queens - but it's actually a pretty straight forward rock group. The band was initially four members and released two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their greatest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, however it did not come without its own set of issues. Record companies placed the band on the position with the order "give us an album that is a success or we'll drop you" and the pressure was on to deliver. Luckily for Toto, they did and they did it with the aid of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience. Before forming the group, members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic signature has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many contemporary artists.
The album opens up hard with songs like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to write fantastic AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. The album also has some more mellow, jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distorted AOR and should sound totally wrong, but is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes took a turn for the worse. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career and the band had a variety of drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the group continued to perform as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It was not as well-liked as IV. However, the group was able to release a chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater virtuosity on drums, and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloned on previous performances.
After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live concert which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The studio album came out shortly after, and the group went on an extensive world tour in support of it. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started searching through old demo tapes and tapes to make an album that would feature songs that were never recorded before. It was released in the form of a double-album called Then & Now in 2001. It was the first album in the band's history not to include one single track with the word "A" in its title. It also included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that limited his singing ability. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville, while drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia The original Asia members met in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. The group, which was missing Howe who was occupied with Yes during that period, was later renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
